If you are interested in Industrial Heritage and visiting the Brisbane area take a look at the “The Workshops Rail Museum’ at North Ipswich, Qld. Thousands of workers have called “The Workshops” home over the years and during its peak over 3000 people worked on this site, making it the states largest employer at the time. “The Workshops” are now Queensland’s newest tourist attraction and the latest campus of the Queensland Museum. The Museum is state of the art and totally interactive. Behind the scenes tours are available and are a must if you visit the workshops, they are The Blacksmiths, Wagon and Carriage and Steam Shop.
