    On Saturday 9 November 2019 a new video was launched at Newcastle Museum - where the video will be used as part of the steelworks exhibition.
    'BHP Newcastle - A City within a City' was produced by local filmmakers Glenn Dormand and Tony Whittaker, the 46 minute video comprises the voices of 12 former employees.
    It is a strong personal story of life at the steelworks.

    The latest in a new series of documentaries titled 'stories of our town', features interviews with people who spent part of their life working at Newcastle Steelworks. It provides an insight into how the steelworks impacted on the people who worked there.

    Murray McKean had the privilege of photographing the demolition of the steelworks. He took the opportunity to take many excellent 'artistic' photos of the demolition. An exhibition of his best photos opened at the Newcastle University Art Gallery on 24 September. Many NIHA members were in attendance for this impressive event.

    A group of members of NIHA undertook a field trip to the Illawarra region in March 2019. One of the features was a tour of the BlueScope steelworks. Bought back memories of the old days in Newcastle.
