    History was made on this day when two "10" class SMR. Loco's doubled up for the first time to pull a passenger train from Maitland to Newcastle Station.

    No.10 Loco recently restored by the Hunter Valley Training Company in conjunction with the Hunter Valley Workshops and Museum, Steam Loco No.10 was the first 10 class locomotive manufactured and the first of a line built to work the Hunter Valley Coal Fields.

    No.10 was built by Beyer of Manchester in 1911, No.18 was built in 1915 and restored in the Southern Highlands.
